Although Paul Juon (1872-1940) was a contemporary of Arnold Schoenberg, Alban Berg and Anton Webern, he associates stylistically clearly with the late Romanticism.
His individual musical language is characterized by the use of Russian and Nordic tunes, to which he adds rare beats and sophisticated harmonies. A critic once described his music as the missing link between Tchaikovsky and Stravinsky.
Maria Riccarda Wesseling and Clau Scherrer present his songs which are a real repertoire enrichment.
